Low Dose Allergy Immunotherapy (LDA)

Low Dose Allergen Immunotherapy is far superior to other methods of treatment not only allergies but autoimmune diseases. It involves desensitization with a combination of a wide variety of extremely low dose allergens and an enzyme mixture.

LDA method was developed by Great Britain’s immunologist Dr. Leonard M. McEven. The exact formulations of the mixes are proprietary. Over 300 allergens are selected to be used in the various LDA mixes. These mixes are extremely cross-reactive and cover similar proteins contained in other foods, inhalants, and chemical antigens, even though they are not included in any of LDA mixes.

LDA works by presenting very precise, very low doses of substances, made active by enzyme Beta-Glucoronidase, into the skin cells which sends signals to the immune system to produce allergen-specific Tregulator cells. These T cells address inappropriate reactions to any allergen and produce long lasting immune tolerance.

Conditions that can be addressed with LDA:

  • Seasonal allergies
  • Asthma, chronic sinusitis
  • Repeated ear infections
  • Food allergies, food intolerances/sensitivities
  • Histamine intolerance, anaphylaxis
  • Migraines
  • Eczema, contact dermatitis, urticaria
  • Arthritis of any variety
  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Interstitial cystitis
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Fibromyalgia
  • Candida, fungal-related illness
  • Hyperactivity, ADD, ADHD
  • Autoimmune conditions including Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis

The response to LDA does not take long to appear, and certainly over 70% of patients note a significant positive response with their first treatment. Almost all patients respond positively by the third treatment, and if no response is noted by then, we generally re-evaluate the situation. The overall response rate for all conditions treated with LDA is approximately 80% to 91%, depending on the condition being treated.
